MacViewer Not Working in Ventura Operating System

MacViewer Compatibility Issue with macOS Ventura and the Available Solution

For the past 13 years, the Macintosh operating system enumerated USB flash drives using a specific method. The latest macOS version called Ventura (macOS 13) enumerates flash drives differently, which created a compatibility problem for the secure MacViewer application. MacViewer versions 1.5.11.115 and lower may conflict with Ventura and prevent access to the data, although the files themselves remain safe and protected from being viewed or opened.

Nexcopy resolved this issue with MacViewer version 1.5.11.117.

The updated MacViewer is included with Drive Wizard version 1.0.36 and higher, which is the free data load software available from the Nexcopy support page. For those using Nexcopy duplicator equipment, Drive Manager PRO version 1.11.3.1 also contains the Ventura compatibility fix.

Please keep in mind Nexcopy cannot predict future operating system changes introduced by Apple or Microsoft, which places Nexcopy in a reactionary position when major OS-level USB handling methods are modified.

The Copy Secure solution uses hardware write-protected USB flash drives that cannot be remotely updated. Please follow the instructions for updating a Copy Secure flash drive to resolve the issue discussed in this post. Instructions can be found here.
